No matter what your kitchen looks like normally, there are plenty of things you can do to make it an extra special place when you are entertaining. In today’s blog article, we will give you some hints on how to make your kitchen more inviting for when you have guests over at the house.

Clean It Up

First, clean it up. Make it sparkle. People tend to congregate in the kitchen because that is typically where the action is if you are preparing food and drinks. Your guests will be looking carefully at your kitchen, so really do a deep cleaning before entertaining.

Put away or discard random items that tend to pile up in the kitchen like bills, homework, books or those doughnuts from last week that you forgot about. When you declutter, you not only draw attention to the design of the kitchen and that fabulous food you are serving, but you also give yourself more room to cook and more room for others to eat and drink.

Adding some flowers is always a nice touch. You don’t have to spend a fortune. One rose in a bud vase is a lovely detail. This is also an opportunity to use color to accent your kitchen design. Flowers smell good and make the kitchen look fresh and inviting. You may also want to dig out some other vases and have them handy in case guests arrive with flowers, too.

Drink Station

You may want to take out some glasses and some beverages for your guests and set up a drink station. Don’t forget to put out napkins and some bowls of finger snacks. Everyone loves chips and pretzels. If ice is not in easy reach, you can even put out an ice bucket.
