Is there anything better than BBQ burgers in the summer? Try my knock off “In N Out Burger” recipe this Canada Day! I usually use a grilling mat because the patties are very thin-the style of In N Out Burgers and, using the mat, has the added bonus of keeping the grill clean!
- 1 lb ground beef (we use ground turkey thigh and it’s great too!)
- 1 small yellow onion, grated
- 1 egg white (we use the entire egg)
- ½ tsp seasoning salt
- ½ tsp ground pepper
- 6 slices cheddar cheese
- 6 seedless buns
Secret sauce (seriously-this is the best part!)
- 2/3 c mayonnaise
- 4 Tbsp ketchup
- 4 tsp dill pickle relish
- 2 tsp mustard
- ½ tsp paprika
To make sauce, mix everything together. Mix all burger ingredients together and shape into 6 very thin patties. Place patties on grill (I use either my indoor grill or put them on a grilling mat on the BBQ to avoid them falling through the grill) and cook about 5 minutes per side. Place a slice of cheddar on burger during last minute.
Assemble by spreading the secret sauce on each bun. Place burger on the bun and top with lettuce and tomato (onion and pickles are also lovely!).
