One of the services we offer to clients is custom cabinet construction for their kitchen, bathroom, and other interior projects. Our custom cabinetry falls into three categories: formaldehyde-free, standard, and plywood. We are referring, here, to the cabinet boxes.

Formaldehyde-Free

These cabinets are made with a board/wood product that does not off-gas formaldehyde. This product uses the latest in technology using all low volatile organic compound (VOC) materials.

Standard

Standard cabinets are made with 5/8” melamine in white or a hard-rock maple finish. Melamine is a tough, long-lasting material that is easy to wipe clean. Many clients like the white finish which looks very new and contemporary.

Plywood

We also offer traditional plywood cabinets that reflect an old-world style. Dovetail drawer finishes are available upon request.

Remember that in addition to these three cabinets types there is a big selection of doors and drawer fronts to choose from. And cabinets can be finished with just about any color paint or stain.

In addition to choosing the cabinet style, you will also have to choose the type of cabinet style, such as inset, full overlay or half overlay. This refers to where the door or drawer sits in relation to the frame around the cabinet and can make a big impact in the overall look of the kitchen.

Look at lots of different kitchens for inspiration before you decide. Instagram and Houzz are good websites for looking at photos. And don’t hesitate to discuss all these components with your building contractor and designer so that you can achieve exactly the look that you want.

Choosing custom cabinet construction is just one piece of the puzzle. You will also have to choose door styles, cabinet styles, and the finish. All of these components will work together to give you the kitchen you desire.

Elite Kitchens and Bathrooms, based in Langley, BC, is your source for everything custom cabinetry related. As the 2019 winner of the Vancouver Consumer Choice Award, they pride themselves on stellar customer service to match the quality of their cabinets.
