If you have the good fortune to be designing a kitchen, either redesigning an old one or building a new one, there are plenty of opportunities to be ultra organized with your cabinets and their functions. Today, there are some very clever things available as inserts for cabinets, and in today’s blog article, we are going to go over a few that we really like.
Vertical Spacers
Consider putting some vertical spacers in a cabinet. These allow the upright and efficient storage of a variety of items such as trays, cutting boards, cookie sheets, and other assorted skinny and flat things like cooling racks for cookies. Some people even choose to store dishes vertically. Definitely allow yourself at least one spot for this.
Stand Mixer Storage
There is the possibility of having a special surface for your stand mixer that is like an arm that swings down under the counter and into a cabinet when you are not using it, and swings up to bring it into view. However, be sure to check the dimensions and weight of your stand mixer to make sure yours will work with this arm. There are a lot of different brands, sizes, and weights of stand mixers, and these arms are typically designed for the KitchenAid brand. This is a great idea if you don’t want your mixer on the counter all the time or to lug it around when it is needed.
Condiments and Spices
There are some excellent organizational things for condiments and spices which are especially useful if you do not have a separate dedicated pantry. These can fit on cabinet doors or have slide-out organizing cubby holes, and they will make your life a lot easier.
Before choosing organizational inserts, look at a map of your cupboards and give some careful thought to what you want in each cabinet. Sometimes inserts require giving up a little space inside that cabinet, but they make up for it with their efficiency and ease of use.
